In our latest newsletter we asked for prayer for Samuel Vega and his wife, Fiorella, who had both been very ill with COVID-19. Here is Samuel’s latest report:

I would like to take this opportunity to first of all *thank the Lord* for the life He has given us. It was not easy to go through this time of sickness, which many today are also suffering from. My wife and I became very ill on January 1st, and we were on oxygen for two weeks. Thank the Lord, unlike others, my lungs were 25% affected and my wife’s, 10%. We both had to separate from our children for about 20 days. God has been very good to us. During this time of sickness, we have been able to experience to the greatest degree the fulfillment of our God’s promises and His love for us and our children. All of this was shown to us through the works of His children, like you. For this reason I would like to take this opportunity to thank each one of those people and churches who were praying for us, caring for us, calling us, making donations, visiting, video chatting, sending us medicine, doctors, nurses, oxygen, health drinks, and many, many other supports. That is what I mean by having experienced the love and grace of God through each of you. We were discharged on January 20, and although we are not 100% well, God has worked quickly and greatly in our bodies. We still continue in recovery with treatments such as vitamins, respiratory exercises, and special natural drinks in order to avoid a relapse, as we still have back and chest pain which we understand to be typical of COVID-19 recovery. In addition, we have some pending tests to be done according to the doctor’s plan. The doctor has also instructed me to lose 26 kg [about 57 lb], of which I have already lost 10 [about 22 lb] during my illness. We praise God for giving us life and health, and we are willing to continue to give Him the glory through our undeserved service. We praise Him also for our beloved church “El Alfarero”, for their immense outpouring of love for us. Finally, we are sure that, as John 11:4 says, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son may be glorified through it.”
