For over 60 years he faithfully served in Peru, leaving a lasting mark through churches planted, the Peruvian Creation Museum, and a Bible school established. Many of us are thankful for the privilege of knowing him and witnessing his lifelong labor for Christ.

In the midst of these days, his son Tim Whatley was serving deep in the jungle — traveling hours for special services, navigating constant rain and even a landslide, then safely returning home only to receive the call that it was time to travel to California to be with his ailing father.

Robert had been confined to bed, receiving a steady stream of family and friends. Just days before his passing, the Peruvian government scheduled a ceremony in November where his contribution to Peru and its people will be recognized.

Please keep his family in your prayers during this time of loss and transition. They are deeply thankful for the faithful coworkers at Iglesia Evangélica Bautista Kiteni, SEBIC Cusco, and Museo FUNDAMENTOS who continue serving so that the Lord’s work continues.
