The town of Pitumarca has managed to maintain a low-risk level so far throughout the pandemic. However, a recent outbreak of COVID resulted in the temporary closure of the church for the next month. Pastor Joel plans to check on the church members in the meantime, as he is allowed. Safer, small group Bible studies are a possibility.

One of the ladies of the church, Ms. Hermelinda Ilberto, is sick with COVID. Please pray for her, and for protection for those around her. Peru’s healthcare system is lacking even in larger cities, and remote areas like Pitumarca are at a steep disadvantage. As you may imagine, lack of understanding of social distancing and other anti-COVID measures can be somewhat of an issue here. Thank you for your faithful prayers!
